Hands off Venezuela, in co-operation with the Venezuela Support Group and the James Connolly Debating society in Belfast, organised two meetings in support of the Venezuelan Revolution in Dublin and Belfast. The idea was to continue with the campaign Hands off Venezuela - Ireland, already constituted after a first round of meetings held last April at two Irish Universities.

Rubén Linares speaking tour big success in Denmark

Rubén Linares, national coordinator of the revolutionary Venezuelan trade union confederation, the UNT, came to Denmark on a speaking tour organised by the Danish Hands Off Venezuela campaign. He was able to speak at the Social Forum, to trade unionists and school students to explain the real situation in Venezuela.

Grassroots Group Celebrates Delay of Game Attacking Venezuela

Pandemic Studios announced on Sept. 24, 2007 that it is delaying the release of its new video game Mercenaries 2: World at War which is set in Venezuela. Pandemics' planned release of Mercenaries 2 in time for the 2007 holiday buying season had created worldwide controversy since the story line involved a mercenary invasion of Venezuela when "a dictator messes with the oil supply."
