A good-humoured crowd of dozens of people from many Latin American countries and British solidarity and left wing activists gathered on Friday, September 18, outside the US embassy in London to say "Hasta la vista Baby!". The event had been called by the Movimiento Ecuador Reino Unido to celebrate the end of the US military presence in that country, as a result of president Correa not renewing the permit for the Manta base.

We are proud to announce the launch of a new Venezuelan solidarity blog in Polish. Over the past few years Hands Off Venezuela has been active in Poland, organising meetings with students and union activists. And now we have decided to give a voice to all those who differ with the "official line" of the Polish - and international - media on Venezuela. The blog is open to anybody who wishes to discuss events in Venezuela and Latin America. Hands Off Venezuela Finland held a demonstration in support of the Venezuelan masses and President Chavez in front of the Venezuelan embassy in Helsinki on September 4. Rauni Salminen of HOV spoke about the US military bases meant to be installed in Colombia, as well as of the situation in Honduras after the coup, the resistance movement, the human rights violations and the media silence on that subject. Mérida, September 2^nd 2009 (Venezuelanalysis.com) -This week, the Socialist Workers Front within the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) began the formation of worker "patrols," or local units, to function together with the party's neighborhood based patrols. Also, the party announced that it will host the ‘First International Meeting of Leftist Parties' in early October.
