ABN.- Venezuelan President, Hugo Chavez, said Sunday that if the USA attacked Venezuela militarily through Colombia, it would initiate a “100-year-long war”, which would spread throughout the region.
“We are the sons and daughters of Bolivar. We live all around, from Mexico to Argentia (…) Venezuela is not alone, we have an extensive group of friends (…) Let everybody know that a war against Venezuela will not only be against Venezuela” –Chavez said during the 343rd weekly broadcast of the official TV show “Hello President”, which took place in Paez municipality, Portuguesa State.
Chavez described the current Colombian government as a USA lackey, when regarding the accord between Colombia and the USA that enables the installation of seven US military bases.
“Colombia has transferred itself to the USA, it delivered itself. And it was not the people doing this, it was the government and their oligarchy, which used to wear a mask. They have dropped their mask” –Chavez said.
Additionally, he informed about the upcoming visit of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to Venezuela, as part of the consolidation of relationships between both nations.
Chavez added that “Imperialism and its lackeys have zeroed in Iran and Venezuela but they won’t be able to defeat us. The same way Iran has Israel, we have the Colombian government next to us, following directions from the Yankee Empire”
